August 20, 2008
Citing that "she has served as a strong, highly visible advocate for her constituents" the North West Current in this week's edition endorsed Muriel Bowser in her re-election bid.
Further, the DC Latino PAC also has endorsed her candidacy.
"These endorsements mean a great deal to me" says Councilmember Bowser, "because everyone knows there is not a more keen observer of neighborhood and community issues than the NW Current. They closely watch the issues that mean the most to many residents - schools and education, safety, and public space issues.
"So too, the DC Latino PAC is fighting to assure services, equity, and respect to our minority Latino community. Getting their endorsement says they know that I work tirelessly on behalf of all of the residents of the Ward". To the DC Latino PAC I say "Gracias por tu apoyo (thank you for your support".

The District of Columbia Fire Fighters Association, Local 36 of the International Association of Fire Fighters, AFL-CIO has endorsed Muriel because of her dedication to the fire fighters and public safety throughout the District. The AFL-CIO is what many firefighters consider their “life line”, and having Councilmember Bowser on the committee that oversees them is great. As best stated, the “decisions that this committee, The Committee on the Public Safety and Judiciary, because they can make the difference between my members having the proper tools and apparatus to accomplish our mission… to providing the benefits that will provide them and their families in the event they are killed or seriously injured.”
District Matters, April 20, 2007
Muriel Bowser understands her ward, and will work tirelessly to ensure that her constituents are properly represented and are receiving the best services possible from the city. She is committed to sound policies addressing education, public safety, city services and a host of other pressing issues. I also believe she will keep her promises. Much like Mayor Fenty has stayed true to his word and started to make the necessary changes to put DC back on the right track, Muriel will do the same; not just for her ward but for the District as a whole.
